Projection Mapping

Projection mapping that works in the real world

Projection mapping changes the relationship between content and space. A building, object, stage or installation becomes part of the visual story, with light and movement shaped around its form.

SL Motion Lab supports projection mapping from the creative idea through to the practical delivery. That includes mapped visuals, system setup, playback preparation and demonstration configuration when a project needs both a strong image and a dependable technical foundation.

What the work involves

Creative development

Every mapped surface has its own character. The visual approach needs to respond to the shape, the viewing position, the atmosphere and the reason the audience is there. Early references and tests help establish what the content needs to do.

Content and mapping

Visuals are developed with the intended surface and projection environment in mind. The content can be shaped for architectural detail, product form, live performance, exhibition space or a demonstration environment.

System setup

A successful mapping project is not only about the animation. Projectors, playback, signal paths, positioning and configuration all affect the final experience. SL Motion Lab can help prepare and configure the system so the visual work is ready to be used.

Demonstrations and technical support

When a project is being shown to clients, partners or visitors, the setup needs to be repeatable and understandable. SL Motion Lab has supported demonstration configuration and technical activity around live presentation days.

Relevant experience

For Havelocks Kingdom, SL Motion Lab delivered projection mapping alongside system setup and demo configuration. The work also included helping Techside during the Aculas demonstration days, supporting the practical side of presenting the system and experience.

Start with the space

If you have a location, object, stage or demonstration setup in mind, share what you know: dimensions, viewing positions, available equipment, content requirements and key dates. That gives the project a practical starting point.
