Process

From first idea to final experience

Creative projects become easier to deliver when the visual ambition and the practical requirements are discussed together. SL Motion Lab uses a clear process that can scale from a small graphics task to a live projection mapping or demonstration project.

1. Understand the brief

We establish what the project needs to communicate, who it is for, where it will be seen, what already exists and what has to be delivered. For technical or live work, this is also where equipment, signal paths, surfaces and operating requirements begin to come into view.

2. Gather the right material

That might be a logo, brand guide, CAD file, drawing, photograph, reference image, measurement, storyboard or simply a conversation. Good source material helps the creative work move faster and stay accurate.

3. Develop the visual direction

Ideas become tangible through references, sketches, visual tests, early 3D, animation studies or mapped content tests. This stage is about finding the direction before committing all the production time.

4. Build the content

The selected direction is developed into the required renders, graphics, photographs, animation or projection content. The work is created with the final format and environment in mind.

5. Configure and test

For live and technical projects, content needs to be seen in relation to the system. Playback, setup, configuration and demonstration requirements are checked so the visuals are usable, not just impressive in isolation.

6. Refine and deliver

Feedback is handled through focused review points. Final files are then prepared for the intended screen, projector, presentation, campaign or digital channel.

What helps at the start

  • The objective and intended audience
  • Where the work will be experienced
  • Available dimensions, equipment or technical information
  • Reference material and brand assets
  • Key dates, review points and delivery formats

You do not need a perfect brief. A rough idea and the right questions are enough to begin.
